What is GRL PWR?
GRL PWR is a female-led weight training class built for girls in the Portland, Oregon metro area. We combine expert-led coaching with a positive, high-energy environment that encourages physical strength, mental resilience, and self-confidence. Young girls in middle school and high school can expect to learn strength training fundamentals, familiarity with a range of equipment, all while working alongside others in a safe, comfortable environment to create a fitness foundation for the future.
This class is available on Fridays only (at this time) throughout the summer. We provide additional classes all week, as well as private training options if your girl(s) would like to work 1 on 1 , in a small group or bring their entire team. Drop In, 12 & 24 Session Packages Available for All Groups! Package sessions can be used for GRL PWR class & all other classes (except Varsity & Private). Purchase package below & register for classes within our app.
Private slots can be utilized for 1 on 1, small group (2-9 people) or team training. This is a great option if you have a group of girls that want to workout more than once per week in the GRL PWR class and/or desire more customized sports performance training.

Why GRL PWR Matters
Research shows that girls are more likely to drop out of sports by age 14, and that self-esteem struggles often spike during middle and high school years. GRL PWR combats this with a holistic approach — blending performance training with real conversations and community support.
The disparity between access & resources in male athletics vs female athletics continues to exist. One research study highlights only 9% of coaches require strength & conditioning for their female athletes compared to 50% for male athletes. And that’s just athletes, not including those that aren’t participating in sports.
GRL PWR is also designed to help girls develop strength, bone density & a foundation in fitness for the future. At APEX PWR, we’re a leading provider of DEXA Scans for body composition & bone density analysis. A resounding statement we hear from both our referring providers and women themselves later in their life battling bone density concerns is, “I wish I would’ve implemented weight training earlier in my life”. GRL PWR is our answer to help young girls build confidence early in life with weight training and the weight room / gym.

More than Just Weight Training
In House All-Star Team: It’s not easy to bounce back after an injury, surgery, or time off, but at APEX PWR in Tigard, Oregon, we feature more than just working out. Our Team consists of physical therapists, wellness specialists (including nutrition) and support staff – all with a female presence – to help girls in their fitness journey.
Elite Resources: At APEX PWR in Tigard, OR, you’ll find a facility full of equipment & technology that is normally exclusive to Division 1 schools & research labs. Outside of premiere strength equipment, we also offer VALD testing technology, including force plates, speed gates, and other strength testing to create customized training approaches, gather objective data and make science-backed, informed decisions throughout injury rehab & return to sport.

Conveniently Located: Our 10,000 square foot training and physical therapy facility is located on Greenburg Road in Tigard, Oregon, across 217 from the Washington Square Mall
Open 6 days per week, early & late: We offer personal training, group training and physical therapy six days per week. On Saturday mornings, we also have appointments, along with classes & special events. Additionally, we offer group training, virtual training and open gym.
